Denise Bonney is a paralegal in the banking and finance department of the Dentons Vancouver office. She has 17 years of experience in entertainment financing and business & legal affairs. Working for local film and television producers, she drafts and reviews various agreements related to the development, financing, production, and delivery of indigenous productions and international co-productions. Her experience extends to coordinating and preparing documentation for Canadian and American unions, insurance brokers and adjusters, and various government authorities applying for Canadian tax credits, Canadian funds/grants, and CRTC certification. She also has experience with preparing credits and credit statements and copyright applications in both the US and Canada as part of the delivery process.
In her current role, Denise works with our producer and studio clients assisting them in reviewing and drafting various agreements ranging from performer and other department head agreements, chain of title agreements, clearances, reviewing music rights for E&O clearance, and delivery and coordinating banking documents to obtain interim financing. In addition, Denise works with our Canadian bank clients, assisting them with providing their clients with interim financing, including for the Canadian indigenous and service tax credits.
