Dentons' Corporate team in Europe has significantly increased its rankings in the recently published H1 League Tables, including reaching the #1 spot for Eastern Europe in Bloomberg’s rankings. In addition, the team has significantly increased its rankings in other published League Tables, particularly for Central and Eastern Europe, Poland, France and Turkey.

The Firm’s European M&A team has been involved in some of the most complex deals across the region in H1 including advising:

• Groupe Canal+ on the sale of a 52.7 percent stake in TVN to Scripps Networks Interactive which is the largest M&A transaction on the TMT market in Poland this year. 
• Rio Tinto on the disposal of its subsidiary ECL, a world leader in the design and installation of equipment used to produce primary aluminium, to Fives, a major player in the aluminium industry.
• Croatian company Adris Grupa in the €550 million sale of its tobacco business to British American Tobacco.
• Yemeksepeti on the sale of its shares to Delivery Hero, the largest acquisition in the online food ordering industry in Turkey.

While the above rankings highlight the team’s work in CEE/SEE, Dentons also moved up the league tables rankings significantly in key locations throughout Western Europe, including the UK, France and Germany.

These rankings follow several strategic lateral hires and mergers, including the addition in Budapest of renowned M&A and Private Equity Partner Rob Irving together with Partner Edward Keller and a team of 10 lawyers who focus on high end transactions throughout CEE and SEE. Dentons Corporate team has also recently expanded its offering across Western Europe with the arrival of Partners: Christoph Papenheim and his M&A team in the Frankfurt office; Matthias Santelmann who focuses on transactions in regulated markets in Berlin; Jesús Durán who joined to head the Private Equity practice in Spain; and Olivia Guéguen and Anne-Laure Marcerou in Paris, both highly recognized for their wealth of experience in cross-border M&A, primarily in the life sciences field. Dentons has also significantly enhanced its strong compliance practice with the arrival of Partner Rainer Markfort and Counsel Christian Schefold to the Berlin Corporate team.
