Calgary— Dentons was proud to, once again, support Calgary’s premier event of the year, the Calgary Stampede, often referred to as the “Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.”

“The Calgary Stampede exemplifies community spirit and is an event that allows people from all walks of life to come together to celebrate the best of Western hospitality,” saidDonald Leitch, Q.C.,Managing Partner of Dentons’ Calgary office. “We are proud to give back and be a part of such a fantastic event.”

Dentons staff members volunteered more than 400 hours of their time throughout the 10 days of festivities, starting on July 7 at our popular Stampede Parade Day breakfast, where they served more than 600 people from 50-plus organizations.

As long-time supporters of local initiatives, Dentons firm members have been participating in this event for decades, some of whom assuming more senior roles, including:

• Quincy Smith, Q.C.: Founder of the Calgary Stampede Foundation and Honorary Life Director of the Calgary Stampede

Dentons is also pleased to support Vern Nolin, our chuckwagon driver, for a sixth consecutive year; and the Calgary Stampede’s Young Rider Program, which provides tickets to the Calgary Stampede Rodeo for children and their families who would otherwise not have that opportunity.
