3 February 2017 marks the founding of the Public Procurement Law Association (PPLA). Prominent among the PPLA’s founding members are Dentons lawyers: Aldona Kowalczyk, our law firm’s partner heading its Public Procurement Law team who was elected President of the PPLA’s Executive Board, and Dentons counsels Michał Drozdowicz and Anna Szymańska, the latter being appointed to the Association’s Audit Committee.

The PPLA was set up as a platform for information exchanges and the popularization of knowledge about public procurement law in a broad context (extending to PPP and licensing), and will serve to promote the best international standards and practices in this area, as well as highlighting the principles of ethics to be followed by professionals dealing with issues governed by this law. The Association is also to serve as a forum where lawyers can join in public debate on the public procurement system and practical issues in the regulatory sphere.

Once the PPLA is registered, it will immediately start recruiting new members from among reputable lawyers whose knowledge and experience is bound to be highly instrumental in developing solutions beneficial to all players in Poland’s public procurement market.
