A public procurement seminar was held on April 25, 2018 at the offices of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in Warsaw, organized by the Public Procurement Team at Dentons in cooperation with CCPIT, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Poland and the Polish employers’ organization, Pracodawcy RP.

The seminar was aimed at top Chinese enterprises operating in Poland. During the meeting, Aldona Kowalczyk, partner and head of the Public Procurement team, assisted by team members, i.e., Anna Szymańska and Michał Drozdowicz, both counsel at Dentons, discussed issues such as compliance with the procedural requirements of the Polish Public Procurement Law as a factor increasing the chances of successful bidding and a favorable tender outcome. Michał Turczyk, partner at the Tax Team and the Head of the Subsidy, Development Incentive and Innovation Practice, presented the option of engaging in profitable investments in Poland co-financed with EU funds.

Additionally, the participants watched Dentons lawyers presenting ‘Public Contracts in Poland’ (www.publiccontractsinpoland.com), an online platform dedicated to clients and potential clients who intend to deliver goods and services in the public procurement formula and are on the lookout for business opportunities in Poland.

The platform is the first service of its type offered by a law firm in Poland. The service is available in English and provides free of charge access to a database containing information on major tenders in the area of infrastructure, energy, railway and transport. The participants were welcomed by: Ms. Lijuan Liu, trade and economic advisor of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Poland, Mr. Janusz Pietkiewicz, Deputy President of Pracodawcy RP, and Mr. Peidong Guo, Director at the Warsaw office of CCPIT. The meeting was conducted by Sławomir Majman, Head of the European Strategic Investment Team at Dentons.
