Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, celebrated its third anniversary in Italy in October 2018 by financing the restoration of Mattia e Gregorio Preti's monumental painting "Allegory of the Five Senses" at the National Gallery of Ancient Art.

The painting will be the main attraction of the exhibition "The triumph of the senses. New light on Mattia and Gregorio Preti", open to the public from February 22 to June 16, 2019 at Palazzo Barberini in Rome.

The exhibition, which includes 12 paintings, is dedicated to the close connection between the two Calabrian artists: Gregorio, who was close to the academic tradition, and the younger and more talented Mattia, who was influenced by the Caravaggio universe and already aware of the new developments in Roman Baroque in Guercino and Lanfranchi.

The financing is a part of Dentons' corporate responsibility program and its commitment to make a lasting and positive impact on the communities in which it operates.

Dentons’ offices in Italy have been active in supporting the artistic and cultural heritage of their local cities. Prior to the restoration in Rome, in 2016, its first Italian office in Milan funded a restoration of three paintings of the famous Hall of Mirrors of Palazzo Arese-Litta.
