Atlanta—Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, today announced that principal Eric Tanenblatt has joined the board of directors of Points of Light, which provides expertise to the organization’s mission in inspiring and mobilizing change throughout the world.

Tanenblatt is global chair of the Firm’s Public Policy and Regulation practice. His appointment is a reflection of his extensive experience in political activism, fundraising activities and civic engagement. Tanenblatt began his service on the board on Jan. 1, 2019 and will serve a three-year term alongside four other members appointed at the same time.

An advocate for volunteerism and public service, Tanenblatt was nominated by President George W. Bush, and confirmed by the US Senate, to serve on the board of directors of the Corporation for National and Community Service, serving from 2008 until 2013. He was director of intergovernmental affairs at the Peace Corps during President George H.W. Bush’s administration, and was the founder and chairman of Hands on Georgia, a statewide organization to promote volunteerism.

Points of Light, through affiliates in 250 cities across 37 countries and partnerships with nonprofits and corporations, is the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service. It engages five million volunteers in 20 million hours of service each year.
