Dentons Delany, a 13 Caribbean jurisdiction full-service legal practice is proud to announce the advancement of two partners with multijurisdictional oversight to senior leadership roles within the Firm. Effective 3 June 2024, Joia W. S. Reece assumes the position of Dentons Delany Co-Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Office Managing Partner – Barbados, while Michael John Koeiman has been named Dentons Delany Co-Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Head of Employment and Labor. A testament to Dentons Delany’s ethos, these elevations signify our devotion to cultivating and acknowledging exceptional local young talent.

In Reece’s new role as Office Managing Partner of Barbados, she will extend her scope of leadership and mentorship whilst championing transformation initiatives. Illustrating her vision for the Firm, Reece commented, “The Dentons Delany team is truly a melting pot of vibrant minds and energy across the Caribbean. I am invigorated by the dynamic approach which we share and welcome this opportunity to nurture our strengths which inspire and drive this Firm.”

Reece a highly skilled litigator, assumed the position of Partner and Vice Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution in 2023. Koeiman has served as Partner and Head of Employment and Labor since 2023. In their joint role as Co-Head of Dentons Delany’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department, they will coordinate our cross-functional disputes practice with a strategic focus on complex and cross-border commercial litigation, international arbitration proceedings, class actions, labour disputes, white-collar crime, and insolvencies, restructuring and enforcement.
