Dentons has been selected as a finalist in two award categories of the 15th Annual M&A Advisor Awards. The Firm was named as a finalist for Healthcare and Life Sciences Deal of the Year (Under $100 MM) and Restructuring Deal of the Year (Under $100 MM) for work successfully advising on the restructuring of Nuo Therapeutics.

In 2016, Dentons achieved a significant victory for Nuo Therapeutics, a biomedical start-up, confirming a Chapter 11 plan of reorganization in the Bankruptcy Court for Delaware. The team under the leadership of Sam J. Alberts (Washington, DC) and Bryan Bates (Atlanta), along with Venture Technology partner Jeff Baumel (New Jersey) helped steer Nuo Therapeutics through an expedited restructuring that culminated in a confirmed plan of reorganization just three months after the case was filed. The plan included a financial recapitalization of the company through a private placement capital raise by new equity holders. As a result, interest holders will benefit significantly, and existing management will retain control of the reorganized company.
