Berlin was recognized as one of the nation’s leading cannabis law authorities, advocating full-time for clients in, or impacted by, the state-legal cannabis and hemp industries and helping navigate tensions with federal law.

Berlin has helped shape the cannabis industry through foresight and creativity and by building a preeminent legal practice to help clients access private and public capital markets, ensure compliance, establish multi-state operations and grow companies globally. He has represented large, publicly traded companies that sell products or services to the cannabis industry, companies involved in financing the industry, vaporizer manufacturers, testing labs, cultivators, processors and dispensary operators. Notably, he worked pro bono to help draft and pass medical cannabis laws in Illinois and Ohio. When few others saw the industry’s potential, Berlin became among the first lawyers dedicated full-time to serving clients impacted by cannabis laws.
