Bogdan Piskorskiy is a Senior Associate in Dentons’ Astana office and a key member of the Firm’s renewables, real estate, construction and infrastructure practices. With more than 20 years of experience, Bogdan provides clients in-depth expertise and is familiar with the nuts and bolts of structuring and implementing project development deals. He participated in some of the largest and most innovative deals and advised a number of major companies on FIDIC and EPC contracts and other related transactions.

Bogdan’s experience includes in-depth knowledge of the energy industry law and various types of contracts utilized in energy, renewables and infrastructure projects, including bespoke forms, FIDIC-based and local templates of construction and other related types of contracts.

Prior to joining Dentons, Bogdan held various senior legal positions in management companies, companies operating in the chemical and petrochemical sector, law firms and at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Experience

Major tobacco company (South Korea): Advising the client on various matters related to the construction of a tobacco factory in Almaty oblast, drafting and negotiation various contracts, including preliminary lease and lease agreements, lease of warehouse premises, land sale and purchase agreements, related mortgage agreements, design, construction and construction-management agreements, producing the general overview on certain regulatory aspects associated with the production and distribution of tobacco products in Kazakhstan.
Foreign consulate in Almaty: Advising the client on the satisfaction of various conditions under the preliminary lease agreement, including dealing with the contractor and other stakeholders, and drafting various security agreements.
Moore Control Systems, Inc. (USA): Assisting the client with drafting and negotiating of a consortium agreement with KazMunaiGaz JSC, as well as the draft EPC contract (based on the FIDIC Silver Book) for the construction of a new gas processing plant in Zhanaozen, Mangystau region.
Major local goldmining company: Assisting with drafting and negotiating two EPC contracts (based on the FIDIC Silver Book) with a local contractor associated with the construction of two gold-refining plants.
TAV Havalimanları Holding (Turkey): Advising on local land-related and other issues and reviewing the draft EPC contract (bespoke form) and other related agreements in respect of the construction of a new passenger terminal at Almaty International Airport.
Major local industrial contractor: Reviewing the draft EPC contract (based on the FIDIC Silver Book) regarding the construction of gold-refinery facilities in Akmola region.
Major local mining holding: Assisting with drafting and negotiating the EPC contract with a local affiliate of a major Chinese construction contractor in relation to a unique and technically complex project for the construction of a shaft and infrastructure in East Kazakhstan oblast.
Major UK design developer: Advising on the regulatory framework covering licensing matters and on the most suitable model of participation in major designing and construction projects originating from international oil and gas mining operators and consortia in Atyrau oblast.
Major Turkish construction investor: Assisting with the development of the bidding documentation and a FIDIC Yellow Book contract for a soda ash plant in Zhambyl oblast.
Chinese major renewable energy developer: Advising on a wide range of regulatory matters associated with the implementation of renewables projects, conducting a due diligence of a local solar power company.
Major local mining and manufacturing holding: Advising on the options for implementing an afforestation project in Kazakhstan, including the legal framework for offset projects, options for use of offset credits, their sale on the domestic market or through foreign trading platforms, using Gold Standard and VERRA VCS methodologies.
Access Infra Central Asia Limited (UK): Conducting the legal due diligence for a local wind power project operator in South Kazakhstan, assisting with drafting transactional documents.
ACWA Power Global Services (Saudi Arabia): Assisting with the memorandum of understanding with Samruk-Kazyna Welfare Fund and the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan on a large-scale renewable project in Kazakhstan involving the production of green hydrogen and the construction of wind and solar plants.
Major US oil/gas services provider: Advising on various transactions related to the construction of a large production base and infrastructure in Aktau city, drafting and assisting with the negotiation of a project management consultancy agreement.
US corporation (US government contractor): Advising on the general contractor’s rehabilitation matters regarding the construction of a facility in Almaty.
