The new regulation for the "Law No. 10008 To attract remote workers and service providers of international character" was finally issued.

Applications for this type of visa will be processed preferentially on the platforms of the General Directorate of Immigration and Foreigners (DGME, for its acronym in Spanish).

Applicants will be able to process their visas from now on, complying with the requirements of the law and the regulations to work from Costa Rica, for their companies of country of origin, enjoying a differentiated category that allows them to have access to bank accounts, tax incentives and exemption of tax on profits, as well as import the necessary equipment for the development of their activity (personal computer, cell phone, electronic tablet, photographic camera and recording devices, sound reproduction and accessories).

To be eligible, you must be a foreigner with a monthly income of $3,000 (if applying individually) or $4,000 if traveling with your family, or have an average annual income that includes those figures. In both cases, you must arrange health insurance for your one-year stay, which can be extended for an equivalent period.
