Sponsored and non-sponsored routes

The UK has a wide variety of visa routes which enable individuals to come to reside, work and settle in the UK. Some immigration routes are known as “sponsored routes” which require sponsorship by an organisation with the relevant sponsor licence. There are other visa routes known as “non-sponsored routes” where sponsorship is not required and an applicant may apply independently but may require endorsement first.

The most applicable visa route for an applicant needs to be assessed on a case-by-case basis, subject to the applicant’s intentions in the UK and meeting the visa eligibility requirements.

Due to the variety of UK visa routes available, we have created concise visa comparison tables for the key “sponsored” and “non-sponsored” routes with which we assist. The comparison tables highlight the various visa categories, associated costs and eligibility requirements.
