Yechiel is a Partner in Dentons’ Banking & Finance team in Melbourne. Yechiel primarily focuses on the regulation of financial services and consumer credit in the payments and cross-border sectors.

Yechiel has market leading expertise advising on a range of regulatory matters that impact financial services providers, including licensing; compliance and regulation; anti-money laundering (AML); payment systems; privacy (including credit reporting); cross-border banking; and distribution arrangements for financial products and consumer credit.

His experience consists of advising both domestic and global clients from established financial institutions to fintechs on their licensing and regulatory matters. This extends to matters ranging from product development, electronic payments (both initiation and acquisition), RBA and card scheme standards, regulated and unregulated credit arrangements (including BNPL), eWallets, cross border FX and remittance, stored value cards, ATM networks and different forms of crypto and digital currency. He also advises global banking clients on cross-border banking and customising their lending and investment products for Australian clients.

Yechiel has experience dealing with and responding to regulators, including ASIC, APRA and AUSTRAC and works closely with a number of industry bodies.
