This breakfast seminar is titled Breaking away from the Cap-rate rat race: letting Legal unlock the new value coming from recent real estate developments.

This presentation is aimed at long-term, “transformational return” real estate players, as well as the lawyers who help them achieve their goals. It will be a survey of some recent developments on the legal front which are directly influencing land use value: shifts in highest and best use of agricultural land and impacts on the Quebec regulatory scheme that protects such lands, tips on monetizing land with high ecological value, and the subtle but important evolution in “social acceptability” restrictions as they apply to property development and zoning changes.
