Join our Employment and Labour Group on October 23, 2024, for an afternoon of comprehensive training. Our team of lawyers will cover a range of topics designed to help you navigate complex workplace situations effectively.

Virginie Dandurand, Partner	Virginie Dandurand, Partner Anatomy of the employment contract: A presentation on best practices and principles for drafting employment contracts and the terms to be included.
Arianne Bouchard, Partner	Arianne Bouchard, Partner The public policy nature of labour standards: This presentation will address employers’ legal obligations under section 51 of the Act respecting occupational health and safety, in light of case law, legislative changes introduced by the Act to modernize the occupational health and safety regime and the Act to prevent and fight psychological harassment and sexual violence in the workplace.
Sarah-Émilie Dubois, Senior Associate	Employers' obligations to protect workers against domestic, family or sexual violence: In this presentation, we will review the case law interpreting section 93 of the Act respecting labour standards, which stipulates that the labour standards contained in the Act are of public order, and any provision derogating from them is null and void. This will enable us to answer questions such as "Are there exceptions to the public order nature of the law?", "How does one determine whether a clause in a collective agreement or employment contract is more generous than a standard?" and "To what extent is it possible for an employee to waive his or her rights under the Act on a case-by-case basis, once they have been acquired?”
