Rzeczpospolita (premier Polish business & legal daily) announced their 2014 Ranking of Law Firms in Poland. Dentons Warsaw tops the leading ranking in Poland for the fourth time in the key categories:

• 1st on the headline number of lawyers
• 1st in terms of the number of advocates and legal advisers
• 1st in terms of revenue for 2014.

As part of the ranking, Dentons is highly recommended by rival law firms in the following categories:

• litigation and arbitration
• investment project finance
• competition law and antitrust
• tax
• public procurement law - Aldona Kowalczyk received an additional recommendation
• environmental law.

Once again Dentons is the undisputed leader in Real Estate and Energy Law, and the heads of these two practices – Paweł Dębowski and Arkadiusz Krasnodębski – have been recognized by peers as sole leaders in their field.

The Ranking’s Committee also gave Dentons recognition for handling leading transactions on the Polish market in 2014 in three categories: M&A, investment funds (private equity) and financing. These are the following transactions led by Dentons:

• Cyfrowy Polsat’s acquisition of Metelem Holding Company shares, a company indirectly controlling 100% of shares held by Polkomtel. As a result Polkomtel (Plus network operator) entered the Polsat Group, which became the largest media-telecommunication group in the region.
• Sale by IK Investment Partners fund, a part of Agros Nova’s stakes to Maspex Wadowice.
• DPD’s (La Poste Group) acquisition of Siódemka shares, a courier service company, from Abris Capital Fund.
• Lotos Petrobaltic SA – financing the development of a B8 field located in the Baltic Sea. It was a project finance transaction.
• Development finance structuring of the new power units of Opole Power Plant (1800 MW) by PKO Bank Polski SA by granting bank guarantees.
