Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, has appointed Neal Livingston as Global Chief Financial Officer.

Livingston joins Dentons from Commonwealth Bank of Australia, where he has served as managing director and general manager of global trade and transaction services since 2013. During the last 10 years, he had similar assignments with the Royal Bank of Scotland Group and Standard Chartered Bank, where his responsibilities included implementing major strategic investments and new operating platforms, leading large teams and running global transaction services.

“Neal brings a unique set of skills to the task of helping Dentons continue to build a world class, integrated finance function that will enable us to serve clients better,” said Elliott Portnoy, Dentons Global CEO. “His experience in financial services is especially valuable as Dentons expands beyond the traditional legal services model to offer a wide variety of business solutions.”

Prior to entering the financial services field, Livingston held numerous positions, including managing partner and global firm treasurer, during the course of 12 years and multiple postings with Andersen Worldwide.

Livingston is a graduate of the University of Brighton, England, where he earned a BA (Honors) in business administration. He also holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Livingston has already assumed his responsibilities with Dentons. He is based in the London office, where he will oversee all aspects of the Firm’s global strategic and operational finance functions.
