Los Angeles—Los Angeles Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy partner Samuel Maizel has been elected to the board of directors for the California Society of Healthcare Attorneys (CSHA) for the 2017–2018 term. The CSHA is a prestigious forum representing all aspects of the health care industry, and is charged with promoting a collegial space for active attorneys in this highly complex sector to promote the exchange of ideas. As a member of the board of directors, Sam will assist with CSHA's policy determination and in supporting the performance of CSHA members.

Recently, he led the representation of American Hospice Management Holdings LLC in its Chapter 11 proceedings in Wilmington, Delaware. The team assisted the swift sale of all assets for approximately US$9 million in three transactions in six states. They generated more proceeds through additional sales that avoided shutdown costs and other claims, and kept health care services operating in the client's communities. Sam is also leading Dentons' representation of Gardens Regional Hospital and Medical Center Inc. in its ongoing Chapter 11 case in Los Angeles, and is representing the Chapter 9 debtor in the West Contra Costa Healthcare District bankruptcy.
