Dentons organized a regional meeting with general counsels of major companies operating in Central Asia dedicated to current issues related to doing business in this developing region.

The event hosted presentations and discussions with the participation of speakers from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, and provided an excellent opportunity for sharing information and knowledge on the current investment climate, political and economic situation in Central Asia. Having gathered over 40 representatives of various companies active in the Central Asia region in such industries as life science and healthcare, telecom, financial institutions, oil and gas, industrial manufacturing, and FMCG, it served as a platform for meetings with the decision-makers from key market players in the region.

The regional meeting with general counsels meeting followed the recent expansion of the Dentons office in Tashkent through a combination with Avent Advokat, and the appointment of Aigoul Kenjebayeva, Kazakhstan Managing Partner, to Central Asia Regional Managing Partner. The Dentons team participating in the event included, apart from the representatives of the Kazakhstan offices, managing counsel Mouborak Kambarova and counsel Shukhrat Yunusov from Dentons’ Tashkent office as well as senior associate Sona Taghiyeva from the Baku office.
