Today at Paris Arbitration Week, Dentons has launched its International Commercial Arbitration Toolkit, giving clients access to details of a potential place/seat of arbitration and enforcement laws across jurisdictions, all delivered via an easy-to-use online platform, and which is open to all.
You can view the launch video here.
The toolkit allows users to access comparative summaries of law and procedure across countries and jurisdictions according to case, using detailed filters to customize a report, see results in a native style according to the precedent of that country - and therefore make selections on an informed basis across more than 30 countries. Dentons’ global reach across more than 200 offices in over 80 countries, ensures that the toolkit will continue to grow in country coverage and client value, into the future.
International commercial arbitration represents vast market opportunity, serving multinational parties and parties with international business. Ninety percent of respondents to a leading survey state that it is their preferred mode of commercial dispute resolution - with the International Chamber of Commerce reporting average annual claim amounts at US$184 million.
Where deeper questions arise, the online platform delivers easy access to Dentons’ international arbitration practitioners in the country or jurisdiction of their inquiry. Dentons delivers a holistic service in arbitration and composes arbitration teams using the best talent with local knowledge from around the world - optimized for the case at hand.
Additionally, Dentons provides a seamless service in arbitration-related litigation, for example, in situations where supervisory courts are asked to determine whether arbitral jurisdiction exists or whether an award should be enforced.
“Dentons’ global reach means it is best positioned to assist clients not only in international arbitrations wherever they are seated/placed but to also advise on local issues arising in any place that might contain evidence and assets, supervisory courts and enforcement of awards" said Lawrence Teh, Global Co-Head of Dentons’ International Arbitration Group. "There is no major International Commercial Arbitration easy-to-use guide published by one organization that represents clients in all the leading places or seats of arbitration - London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Paris and Geneva - and also has a presence in more than 80 countries around the world; until now. With the Toolkit, what might have taken weeks or days to gather can now be done in seconds."
"The toolkit provides quick and detailed expertise, which can be assessed and shared in a way that is customized to client needs," said Anna Crevon, Global Co-Head of Dentons’ International Arbitration Group. "Dentons delivers a holistic service in arbitration and is able to compose bespoke teams using the best talent with local knowledge from around the world."
"International arbitration serves multinational parties and parties with international business interests," said Elliott Portnoy, Global CEO of Dentons. "Dentons' global reach with talented lawyers on the ground in the preferred seats of arbitration, as well as in those countries who supply the most arbitrations, gives us an exceptional footing to build and grow such a tool for clients to gather information quickly."
The Dentons Global International Arbitration Group extends special gratitude to our Litigation and Dispute Resolution Partners and colleagues in Singapore, who were pivotal in developing the toolkit and continue to innovate to serve our clients across the world.
