London—Leading global law firm Dentons is pleased to support the #CityCentury solicitor apprentice initiative. #CityCentury is a career-creation collaboration that allows talented candidates to qualify as solicitors through the solicitor apprentice route studying alongside working as a credible alternative to the traditional, full-time university route.

This allows a wider pool of aspiring lawyers to access great City legal careers, gaining invaluable working insights from within their employers as they gain their legal qualifications.

Candidates will gain a law degree and both parts of the Solicitors Qualification Exam becoming solicitors after six years of work:study.

Dentons has long been a supporter of apprenticeships, being one of the first global law firm to introduce a scheme in 2017 and looks forward to collaborating with other employers to grow this qualification route. The firm currently has 23 apprentices – one of the largest apprentice cohorts in the UK legal market. The apprenticeships are a six-year programme across the firm's London and Milton Keynes offices. The first intake of apprentices are in their final year of the programme and are due to complete and qualify in September 2023. Apprentices have become integral parts of their teams, including undertaking secondments with clients. Recent case studies can be accessed here.
