Dentons is pleased to announce that Abdin Ahmed has won the prestigious Princess Badiya Mentor of the Year Award 2014. Abdin is a senior technical support analyst in the London office of Dentons.
Ahmed was one of 70 Mosaic mentors recognised at a reception at Sandringham hosted by HRH The Prince of Wales for the positive contribution they have made to children and adults in some of the country’s most deprived communities. Mosaic, which was set up by the Prince in 2007, inspires young people to realise their talents and potential.
A mentor since 2009, Ahmed said, "I’m absolutely honoured to have been given this award. Working with Mosaic and the children is my way of giving something back and, whilst I certainly never expected recognition for it, I am delighted and flattered to have been selected from such a worthy, inspirational group of individuals."
Brandon Ransley, UK Managing Partner, added, "Many congratulations to Abdin on his very well deserved award. His dedication to Mosaic and his mentees is a huge credit to both him and to Dentons. As a Firm we are committed to making a positive social impact on the communities in which we live and work, and we are proud to have the efforts of one of our 400-strong team of volunteers in the UK recognised in this way."
HRH Princess Badiya bint El Hassan of Jordan, Mosaic’s founder Chairman, commented, "It is an honour to have an award in my name that recognises particularly outstanding mentors. I am pleased to announce Abdin Ahmed as this year’s winner. His contribution and dedication are an inspirational example of what mentoring can achieve."
