Dentons partner Louise K.Y. Ing has been selected to receive the Daniel K. Inouye Trailblazer Award, the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association’s (NAPABA) lifetime achievement award and highest honor. Resident in the Honolulu office, Ing was recognized for helping clients and the community prosper through her practice, her deep local relationships and her service on the boards of Hawai`i-based nonprofits, companies and bar organizations.

One of seven recipients of this year’s Trailblazer Award, Ing was among those recognized for outstanding achievements, commitment and leadership, and for paving the way for the advancement of other Asian American Pacific Islander lawyers. Trailblazers have demonstrated vision, courage and tenacity in their practice and have also made substantial and lasting contributions to Asian American Pacific Islanders in the legal profession, as well as the broader Asian American Pacific Islander community.

A member of Dentons’ Employment and Labor practice, Ing’s practice focuses on helping businesses, nonprofits and individuals resolve disputes and get back to work, as well as prevent future conflict. Her litigation and dispute resolution experience includes contracts, commercial transactions, leases, employment, real estate, creditors’ rights, bankruptcy law, proprietary information, non-competition and confidentiality agreements and intellectual property matters.

To help strengthen Hawai`i’s communities, Ing has devoted a considerable amount of time to serving on the boards of nonprofits, such as the University of Hawai`i Foundation and the Child & Family Service, among others, and of Hawai`i-based companies, such as Island Holdings. She has also served as a past president of the Hawaii State Bar Association and the Hawaii State Bar Foundation.
