London—Dentons recently hosted a function for the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women to celebrate the work that its Mentoring Women in Business Programme delivers.

Founder Cherie Blair CBE,QC talked about the success of the programme and the achievements that her mentors and mentees had achieved over the past year. Additionally, mentors Julian Stodd and Hiroo Chothia spoke about their positive experiences, and Allison Kahn, Director of the Mentoring Women in Business Programme, gave insight about the importance of the programme in progressing women's careers and how other women can participate.

Based in London with a global reach, the charity was set up in 2008 in response to Cherie’s experiences of meeting women around the world and the realisation that, with the right support, women can overcome the challenges they face and play an important part in the economies and societies in which they work and live. Of mentees to graduate from the programme in our last financial year, 98% were able to realise key business achievements due to their mentor’s support, 97% developed their business skills, 82% found ways to access new markets and 84% hired new employees.
