Edmonton—Dentons is pleased to announce that Michael Sestito has joined the Firm as a partner in our Litigation and Dispute Resolution group in Edmonton.

Michael has extensive experience with complex commercial litigation, fraud and professional negligence matters. In his commercial litigation practice, Michael has represented a variety of local, national and international corporations in complex commercial disputes. He has also represented major financial institutions in defence of conversion, forgery and other matters under the Bills of Exchange Act. 

In his professional negligence practice, Michael has represented doctors, lawyers and investment advisors in both malpractice lawsuits and before professional disciplinary bodies. In his employment practice, Michael has experience advising employers on matters relating to occupational health and safety, as well as privacy.

To complement his legal practice, Michael is often a guest lecturer at the University of Alberta, and volunteers with the growing moot program at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Law, as well as the Edmonton Community Legal Clinic.

Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from McMaster University in 2006, a Certificate of International Business Law from Queen’s University in 2008, and a JD from Queen’s University in 2009. In 2010, he was called the bars in both Ontario and Alberta.
