Muscat—Dentons congratulates Outward Bound Oman (OBO) on celebrating a decade of operations in the Sultanate. The occasion was marked with the gathering of 120 delegates from 32 countries at the Outward Bound International 2019 World Conference. Held at OBO's purpose-built outdoor national training centre on 14 – 17 January 2019 and opened by His Highness Sayyid Faisal bin Turki Al Said, Patron of Outward Bound Oman, the 4-day conference brought together the Outward Bound International community to share best practice and learning from around the global network.

Having initially been set up in the United Kingdom in 1941, Outward Bound has become the global leader in experiential and outdoor education programs for youths and adults. Launched in May 2009 in Oman, OBO uses the desert and mountains to create challenging outdoor journeys, inspire young people to unlock their inner potential, and develop new technical skills as well as a sense of teamwork, self-confidence and a desire to make a difference.

Dentons has provided pro bono legal advice to the organisation since its inception. Dentons has also gone further, into the field with Outward Bound Oman, by sending young Omani lawyers to act as mentors to the students on our courses. This is exactly the sort of real-life feedback that the young Omanis on our courses need in order to develop their potential to the fullest.
