Toronto—Dentons is pleased to announce that the University of Windsor has won top honours at the ninth annual Donald G.H. Bowman National Tax Moot.

The other winners include Rishi Nageshar (Osgoode Hall Law School) for Best Advocate, University of Windsor for Best Factum – Appellant and Western University for Best Factum – Respondent.

The moot, named after the Honourable Donald G.H. Bowman, former Chief Justice of the Tax Court of Canada and former Counsel to Dentons, was held on March 1 and March 2 at the Federal Courts Building in Toronto.

This year, 72 students from 16 law schools across Canada competed in the two-day moot. The students argued the actual case of 1245989 Alberta Ltd. v. Canada (Attorney General), 2018 FCA 114. The judges of the moots included judges from the Federal Court of Appeal and Tax Court, and practitioners from private practice.
