Munich/Düsseldorf/Berlin—Global law firm Dentons advised Vonovia on the acquisition of the residential property developer Bien-Ries. Bien-Ries has a strong focus on the Rhine-Main region and will complement Vonovia's development business in Germany. The transaction is still to be approved by antitrust authorities.

Vonovia SE is Europe's leading private housing company and owns around 416,000 apartments in Germany, Sweden and Austria. In addition, the company manages around 79,000 apartments. Vonovia’s portfolio value is approximately €53.3 billion. The company has been listed on Germany’s DAX since 2015.

Bien-Ries is currently developing 11 projects with a total of around 2,500 planned residential units. It is planned that around 900 apartments of their current pipeline will be transferred to Vonovia's portfolio as rental apartments after completion. The projects focus on the Rhine-Main region, where Vonovia has around 27,500 apartments.
