Frankfurt—Global law firm Dentons has advised the German-based lead investor Lars Singbartl in a seed financing round relating to Canadian technology company MergeBase.

Active in the field of cybersecurity, MergeBase endeavors to provide more effective protection than traditional solutions in the market. Its SaaS-based solution supports businesses and governments in protecting their core applications, such as banking, CRM and ERP systems, against cyber-attacks.

The recent funding round, led by growth investor Lars Singbartl, will enable MergeBase to enter the next growth phase. The company plans to raise its next round in the first half of 2021 in order accelerate its sales and marketing activities.

A cross-border Dentons Venture Technology team, led by partner Dr. Clemens Maschke (Frankfurt), advised the lead investor on the financing round. Senior associate Arik Broadbent and associate Travis Kelley (both Vancouver) advised on all Canadian aspects of the deal.
