Dentons Delany launches quinquennial partner promotions in the Caribbean
Caribbean—Dentons Delany, the exclusive Pan-Caribbean law firm with over 15 recognitions awarded by prestigious legal directories, observed its five-year milestone as Dentons with a trio of promotions. The Firm continues to propel women into leadership with the appointments of Partnership and multijurisdictional oversight being awarded to females.
Dentons Delany combined with Dentons on July 2, 2018. Five years later, its footprint comprises over 60 lawyers and professionals. The qualified team of cross border and multijurisdictional lawyers provides a diverse range of legal services to early-stage start-ups, conglomerates, multinationals, commercial banks, financial institutions, tech giants, and domestic companies.
Joia W. S. Reece, LaKeisha K. John-Farrell, and Haydn K. Persaud were each recognized for their unique contributions to their respective teams. Speaking on his promotion to Senior Associate within the Firm’s Caribbean-wide Corporate practice, Haydn K. Persaud remarked, "I will continue to deliver on time and consistently, so that whenever a client considers doing business in the Caribbean, they immediately think to themselves, I must choose Dentons!"
Joia W. S. Reece will provide additional oversight to the Firm’s Chambers Global recognized practice across 13 jurisdictions as Dentons Delany Vice Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution. Addressing her multijurisdictional appointment following her promotion to Partnership in 2022, Joia commented, "The Caribbean continues to attract opportunities across a vast landscape of practice areas. Our vision is to stand as a force to be reckoned with as these opportunities arise. I see this new role as an integral part of charting that journey."
"It is a distinct honour and privilege to be elevated to Partnership in this prestigious Firm. I am elated to be a part of Dentons’ continuous growth. With enthusiasm and dedication, I will continue to perform using our dynamic approach to produce superior quality work," gratefully expressed LaKeisha K. John-Farrell after learning of her invitation to join the Firm’s partnership and to support multiple Legal 500 recognized practices.
Satcha Kissoon, Dentons Delany Managing Partner for Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Head of Dispute Resolution, shared, "We have much to be grateful for in having these professionals as a part of our Dentons Delany team. Their collective experience and abilities make for a much stronger team, and we congratulate each of them on their advancement within the Firm."
Addressing guest speakers Elliott I. Portnoy, John C. Koski, and Paloma Gomez, our specially invited Latin American colleagues, and members of the Firm across 11 locations during a virtual toast Dentons Delany Chair and Chief Managing Partner Dustin Delany stated, "As we celebrate five years since our combination with Dentons, we also celebrate 10 years since the establishment of our Firm. We have a lot to be grateful for in growing from six attorneys based in Barbados to 11 offices covering 13 jurisdictions, appreciated by our clients and peers as evidenced by the multiple rankings and recognitions of Chambers Global, Legal 500, and others. The core of our success is our team of attorneys and other professionals spanning the Caribbean but working as an integrated unit, enabling our clients to seamlessly navigate their affairs throughout the region. Congratulations to Lakeisha, Joia, and Haydn on their well-deserved promotions. I look forward to continuing to work with them in building out our firm."
