Australia—Dentons has been named as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA); an Australian Government statutory agency charged with promoting and improving gender equality in Australian workplaces. It is the third time Dentons has received the gold-standard citation.

The citation means Dentons ranks amongst leading employers in Australia who are committed to making positive, measurable improvements in workplace gender equality.

Criteria for the EOCGE is rigorous, and covers leadership, learning and development, gender remuneration gaps, flexible working, and other initiatives.

Dentons’ Australia Chair and Australasia Region CEO, Doug Stipanicev, said Dentons’ commitment to gender equality, and inclusion more broadly, was a key part of the Firm’s strategy.

This inclusive policy is drops talk of gendered terms or traditional parenting roles (with key language around kinship groups particularly useful for the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities and those who are diverse of sexuality and gender). The policy now provides equal access to 20 weeks of paid leave for any Direct Carer of a new child.”
