Chambers USA, the oldest and most prestigious of attorney ranking organizations, has for the fourth year in a row awarded Dentons' Native American Law and Policy practice a Band One ranking in National Native American Law for 2017. Additionally, in Chambers USA's first year rating California tribal law practices, Dentons' California Native American Law and Policy practice also achieved a Band One ranking.

Chambers USA characterized our team as "enjoy[ing] an excellent reputation" and reported that our clients praised the team for being "very responsible and responsive." The directory also individually ranked two team members, Heather Sibbison and George Skibine. Chambers sources said Heather is "among the very best" and applauded her client relationship skills, and described George as a "general expert on Indian land and Indian gaming issues."

Describing Dentons California practice, Chambers identifies Dentons as "one of the preeminent firms in the USA for the representation of tribal governments and businesses" and describes our practice as "advising Californian tribes on the full range of issues, including land-into-trust gaming, energy and environmental regulatory matters." Chambers also individually ranked two members of the California team. Matthew Adams, who is known for his work for several California tribes in relation to proceedings arising from the National Environmental Policy Act, was praised by clients for being "very knowledgeable and a good communicator." Paula Yost, who serves as outside general counsel for two of Dentons' tribal clients, was named by Chambers for "wide-ranging litigation work and deep knowledge of the doctrine of sovereign immunity."
