Dentons has been recognized as one of Canada's Top Employers for Young People for the fourth time, reinforcing the important role young professionals play in supporting Dentons’ forward-thinking culture and its role as an employer of choice for future leaders.
First published in 2002, Canada's Top Employers for Young People is an annual competition organized by the Canada's Top 100 Employers project. This special designation recognizes the employers that offer the nation's best workplaces and programs for young people just starting their careers, including through their benefits offering, co-op and work-study programs, career management programs, engagement, demographic composition and profile of their workforce.
Recognized for the first time in 2012, Dentons supports its young professionals with a national and global network of mentors, leading lawyers and distinguished business professionals. Its future leaders have access to ongoing comprehensive learning programs (for example, its foundational and intermediate learning seminars), as well as plenty of opportunities to get involved in initiatives outside of core work responsibilities. These include joining inclusion and green committees, participating in social and charity events like the annual Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer, supporting pro bono projects, and making an impact through volunteering, such as preparing meals for under-privileged community members though the Lawyers Feeding the Hungry and Santropol Roulant programs in Toronto and Montréal, and through Dentons’ annual United Way campaign where last year, students were involved in the organizing committee.
“We are proud to shape careers that provide purpose, encourage curiosity and incorporate continuous professional development,” said Jillian Frank, Chief Talent and Practice Officer at Dentons in Canada. “Our talented young lawyers, law students and business graduates are helping us transform the way we work and deliver service excellence to clients and are key members of our teams. We are excited to celebrate our fourth recognition as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People.”
“Choosing to build my career at Dentons has already provided me with opportunities to learn and lead,” said Jessica Hardy-Henry, a second-year associate and co-lead for Dentons’ Black Professionals Network. “Mentorship, feedback and professional development are woven into the culture at Dentons and have been key to my success as I’ve launched my career. I have also been given a chance to lead on client work, and was thrilled to be part of the team that launched our Dentons Black Professionals Network.”
