Experience

Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China: Representing and advising MOFCOM in several AD/CVD investigations, including on solar panels, laminate flooring, bicycles, oil and gas well casings, aluminum extrusions and outdoor barbeques.
Ingredion Corporation: Representing the single largest importer and industrial user of corn in Canada in an AD/CVD investigation on Grain Corn from the United States.
Pipe and Piling Supplies & Distribution: Representing the largest Canadian importer and distributor in an AD/CVD investigation on piling pipe from China
US Steel Producers: Representing US steel mills in multiple Canadian AD cases
Indian Shrimp producers: Representing Indian shrimp producers before the International Trade Commission to obtain a negative injury determination in the countervailing duty investigation of warm water shrimp from India resulting in no imposition of duties. This was the fourth time -- and first win -- for the Indian producers before the ITC.
Mexican juice producer: Representing the Mexican lemon juice industry in obtaining a negative sunset review determination on lemon juice from Mexico. This was the first five-year sunset review, and the negative determination resulted in a termination of the suspension agreement against lemon juice from Mexico allowing free access to the US market.
Chile salmon producer: Obtained a zero margin in three consecutive reviews in the anti-dumping proceeding against salmon from Chile and revocation from the case. This was the fastest that the order could have been revoked under the then-applicable US laws.
Indian steel producers: Obtained zero margins in numerous AD/CVD reviews for Indian steel producers
CHEMK Group: Representing a world leading ferro-alloys company in several major trade defense proceedings before the European Commission, including reviews and refund proceedings. Dentons represented the same client in several parallel direct actions before the General Court of the European Union against measures and decisions adopted by the EU institutions. One of the legal challenges involves an unprecedented legal claim likely to have an impact on the future practice of the EU institutions in reviews of anti-dumping measures.
Rusal Armenal: Achieving a victory for the client in the General Court of the European Union and successfully challenging a Regulation imposing anti-dumping measures by way of an incidental plea of the non-applicability of a higher legislative act of the EU. We represented in the appeal brought by the European Commission against the judgment of the General Court before EU’s highest Court, the Court of Justice.
The largest Russian exporter of ammonium nitrate: Representing in one of the most controversial expiry review investigations of the anti-dumping measures against Russia, covering dumping, injury and Union interest aspects. The investigation is initiated based on the disputed gas adjustment methodology.

Saudi Arabia adopts Trade Remedy Law

March 21, 2023

Saudi Arabia: In November 2022, the Council of Ministers in Saudi Arabia approved the Law of Trade Remedies in International Trade (the Trade Remedies Law). It regulates the conduct of anti-dumping, countervailing and the imposition of trade remedies on imports into Saudi Arabia, with the aim of protecting exports from Saudi Arabia from similar measures.

Polish sanctions list now available

April 27, 2022

Poland: The Ministry for Internal Affairs and Administration has published on its website the first decisions listing individuals and entities subject to restrictive measures (sanctions). The listings and related restrictions are effective as of 27 April 2022.
