The Republic of Panama recently adopted Executive Decree No.113 of 4 April 2018, which includes the Republic of India within the countries requiring Stamped Visa to enter national territory, abolishing the Restricted Visa for Indian nationals, which implied an extensive and complex process.

In consequence, Indian nationals wishing to enter Panamanian territory must previously request and provide all the required documents before the Panamanian Consul for the visa to be stamped in the passport. The Consul may grant the Stamped Multiple Entrance and Exits Visa for up to three (3) years, according to the verification criteria of the designated officials.

Another major change relates to Executive Decree No.114 of April 4, 2018, which abolishes the visa requirement to enter the Republic of Panama to any person who owns a Schengen Visa or a valid residence, duly issued by any country of the European Union.

To be accepted by Panama, the Schengen Visa must be of a multiple nature, had been used previously in the territory of the granting state and have a validity of not less than one (1) year at the time of entering the Panamanian territory.
