Tougher penalties are on the horizon for breaches of the new Modern Slavery legislation, as well as increased director liability. The results of the first round of Modern Slavery statements suggest that much more needs to be done by organisations operating in Australia.

However, many organisations still aren’t sure if their current measures are enough to meet compliance standards. Now is the time to consider whether these are sufficiently robust to withstand public scrutiny and avoid harsh penalties.
