On October 27, 2021, the Dentons Canada Smart Cities Think Tank team held its 2nd Annual Canadian Smart Cities Virtual Summit featuring world class keynote speakers and panels with dynamic industry leaders.

The Summit attracted panelists and attendees from a variety of sectors including aviation, energy, data, infrastructure, real estate, telecommunications, and transportation, as well as governments of all levels, and non-profits. The Summit builds on the success of the Dentons US Smart Cities Think Tank, which was established to help cities and communities modernize digital, physical and social infrastructure to take advantage of technological developments that enable the integration of essential services.

Morning discussions included:

• The Barcelona experience
• Relentless execution; The Songdo International Business District (IBD) experience in South Korea
• Impact of drones, digital twinning and advances in prop tech on the evolution of the construction industry: construction and inspection processes
• Using technology to improve the development process
