Edmonton—Dentons Canada LLP is pleased to announce that Heather Barnhouse, Partner in the Firm’s Technology and Corporate Commercial Groups, has been named Tomorrow’s Leader at this year’s Women in Law Leadership (WILL) Awards. The Tomorrow’s Leader Award encourages and recognizes the achievements of a lawyer who has been practising for no more than 10 years, and demonstrates significant growth, development and initiative throughout her first years of practice.

In addition to her busy legal practice, Heather devotes herself to the community by participating in various speaking engagements, sitting on boards of directors and helping others build and enhance their careers. A sought-after speaker, Heather has presented at various conferences on a diversity of topics, including the Women in Leadership Conference where she delivered a presentation on risk-taking and innovation; and the Alberta Woman Entrepreneurs (AWE) 2014 Leadership Summit. Heather is also an advisor to AWE, where she works with its committee and members to help women build successful business.  

The WILL Awards are presented annually to female members of the Alberta legal profession and celebrate leadership in six different areas, including private practice, government or in-house counsel, broader roles, community and Tomorrow’s Leader.
