Partner Jim Venit has joined Dentons’ European Competition and Antitrust practice. He will be based in Brussels. Venit joins following his retirement from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in Brussels, where he was a partner and co-head of the Antitrust and Competition practice in Europe. Prior to that, he was a partner at Wilmer Hale and SG Archibald.
During his illustrious career spanning almost four decades, Venit has built up a reputation as one of Europe’s preeminent competition and antitrust lawyers. He has represented multinational companies in proceedings under the Merger Regulation and Articles 101 and 102, as well as compliance matters. He has a particularly strong reputation in M&A, having worked on the high profile mergers of Volvo and Scania, GE and Honeywell, Arcelor and Mittal, as well as Outokumpu and Thyssen Krupp. He is also known for his work on the GlaxoSmithKline dual pricing case and Intel’s Article102 rebates case.
