World's largest firm teams up with elite firm in Latin America's largest economy
Dentons, the world's largest law firm, and Vella Pugliese Buosi Guidoni (VPBG), one of the most respected law firms in Brazil, today have launched a strategic alliance.
The strategic alliance uniquely positions Dentons and VPBG to provide high-quality legal services to clients around the world and within Brazil, the world's ninth largest economy.
This strategic alliance gives VPBG's clients access to the experience and talents of more than 8,500 lawyers working from 158 offices in 66 countries on six continents. Similarly, Dentons' existing global clients would have direct access to VPBG's 13 partners and 116 fee earners based in offices in São Paulo and Brasília.
With this strategic alliance and other recent combinations, Dentons is rapidly becoming the leading global law firm in Latin America, growing faster in the region -- with truly high-quality firms -- than any other firm has ever done before.
The alliance is being formalized at the same time as Dentons' combination with a Peruvian firm, Gallo Barrios Pickmann. It also follows the launch last year of Dentons López Velarde in Mexico and Dentons Cardenas & Cardenas in Colombia, as well as earlier this year the launch of Dentons Muñoz in Central America.
The strategic alliance enhances both Dentons and VPBG's depth and reach in key business sectors and practice groups, including Competition and Antitrust, Corporate/M&A, Dispute Resolution and Litigation, Labor, International Trade, Commodity Finance, Tax, Public and Administrative Law, Real Estate and Environmental Law.
The strategic alliance with Dentons, a truly polycentric firm, will allow VPBG to maintain its autonomy and the attributes of the firm that have enabled it to grow rapidly since its formation in 2009.
