Coinciding with the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT), Dentons' Global LGBT+ Network is holding a global Dentons Pride Day today, 17 May 2018. The Firm's offices across the globe are hosting events and undertaking activities based around the theme "Be An Ally" to help create awareness among non-LGBT+ staff as to the importance of LGBT+ colleagues feeling able to bring their whole selves to work and the huge role non-LGBT+ staff (Allies) can play in this.

"Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is part of our business strategy and therefore a key component of our success," said Joe Andrew, Dentons' Global Chairman. "We continue to look for ways to enhance our commitment to an inclusive workplace, where everyone can reach their potential, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability."

Dentons' global management has shown its support for Pride Day by sending an email encouraging non-LGBT+ staff to become Allies. A video in support of this, in which senior leaders across Dentons' regions speak about the importance of being an Ally, was also circulated to staff.

Activities taking place in the Firm's offices include displays showing pictures and messages of support from LGBT+ colleagues and allies, as well as posters to raise awareness and spark conversation, Allies flyers, and various events, including the screening of the Allies video.

"Last year we launched our Dentons Global LGBT+ network group and it has been instrumental in helping us further foster an environment of support and openness where everyone at Dentons can be themselves. We are committed – in all our offices around the world – to promoting the rich and diverse culture of the Firm, positively impacting our local communities and better serving our clients."

Dentons Global LGBT+ Network is a firm-wide group dedicated to connecting lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, non-binary, gender-fluid, queer and questioning colleagues, as well as their allies. The network was officially launched one year ago today and encompasses all the regions of the Firm.

Dentons Global LGBT+ Network provides support throughout the Firm and promotes cooperation between local LGBT+ employee network groups. The network also increases the visibility of issues affecting LGBT+ colleagues, while providing a means to explore new business opportunities with clients.
