Frankfurt—Global law firm Dentons has advised investment company Quartum Kapital on the acquisition of plastics technology provider Polywest. Following the acquisition, Polywest will continue to operate as an independent company headed by its existing management team. The investment is aimed at maintaining the strong growth Polywest has generated in recent years. The parties have agreed not to disclose the transaction value. 

Quartum Kapital is an investment firm with a focus on Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The company, based in Frankfurt am Main, offers investors direct participation in medium-sized companies on a deal-by-deal basis.

Polywest, headquartered in Ahaus, North Rhine-Westphalia, is one of the world's leading manufacturers of plastic sleeves and adapter systems for flexographic printing as well as molded parts made of various plastic materials. In particular, the family-run company serves the demand for flexible packaging from customers in the food and consumer goods industries.

A Dentons team led by Frankfurt-based partner Robert Bastian advised Quartum on the acquisition, the purchase agreement, the financing and the management participation. Quartum has relied on the advice of Robert Bastian for many years, most recently in the acquisition of food manufacturer Dreistern Lebensmittel.
