Last March, world’s top tier meat processor, Marfrig, announced a US$50 million investment in its Tacuarembó meat plant for the purpose of increasing the industrial plant’s slaughter and storage capacity and improving its productive and industrial processes. The investment will boost the Tacuarembó’s plant production, which, in 2020, already led the ranking of meat exports according to a report issued by the Uruguayan Chamber of Industry. 

In this context, Dentons Jiménez de Aréchaga’s team successfully helped Marfrig on one of the major Project’s contract - the engineering, construction, and procurement (EPC) contract with local construction company, Ciemsa. The advice included the negotiation and drafting of the EPC contract as well as general advice on construction sector legal issues.
