Partner Federico Sutti has been elected Chairman of the Europe Board at Dentons commencing in July 2023. He was elected by a unanimous vote of the Board members.

The Europe Board is a governance body that provides oversight to the Europe CEO and leadership team, as well approval of key strategic initiatives and policies on behalf of the partnership. As Chairman of the Europe Board, Federico Sutti will work closely with the other Board members, and with Europe CEO, Tomasz Dąbrowski, to provide input into Dentons’ strategy and priorities for Continental Europe and Central Asia.

Federico Sutti commented on his election, “Dentons has already made significant progress in its positioning in Europe, but to address the increasingly sophisticated needs of our clients, we aim to raise the bar to concentrate even more on value-add work and to be our clients’ trusted partner in the new era. Looking to the future, we will refresh our focus on clients, people and operational efficiency as the main drivers of the European strategy.

A highly respected leader, Federico Sutti established Dentons’ office in Milan in 2015 and Rome in 2016, and under his leadership as Managing Partner, the Italian practice has grown to a €57 million business employing more than 160 lawyers including 40 partners. He is also a successful lawyer who advises clients on a full range of transactions in the real estate sector. For the last five years in a row, he has been ranked in the top 10 in the annual ranking of the Most 50 Influential Lawyers in Italy by Legalcommunity. In the past year alone, he was awarded “Lawyer of the Year – Real Estate” at the Legalcommunity Real Estate Awards 2022, the Toplegal Industry Awards 2022, and the MF Legal Rankings 2022 by Class Editori.

He takes over the role from Evan Lazar, who has served as Chairman of the Europe Board since Dentons’ foundation in 2013, elected to the role three consecutive times. Evan Lazar will continue in leadership focusing on his roles as Co-chair of the Global Real Estate group, member of the Global Board, and Global Vice-Chair.
