Our Environment and Natural Resources partner, Global Mining & Natural Resources Leader, and member of the Global ESG Steering Committee, José Ignacio Morán, and our associate Jaime Cruzat wrote the article “Green Energy: Latin America’s Next Big Natural Resources Opportunity?” for the first “The Guide to Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance” published by Latin Lawyer and LACCA in December 2022.

Among the main conclusions, the authors state that “Latin America has the opportunity to play a lead role, having excellent conditions for green hydrogen production (…) This, however, should not be taken for granted, since the green hydrogen race presents several challenges such as regulation, the need for adequate infrastructure, efficient use of water, technological innovation and human capital, among others. This is why the coming decades will test Latin America’s ability and willingness to overcome all these obstacles and – eventually – become the main source of green hydrogen in the world.”
