London—Dentons is pleased to announce that Charles July has joined the firm as a partner in the energy, infrastructure and project finance practice in London. Charles joins from Watson, Farley & Williams where he was a partner and former head of the firm's projects, commodities and export finance group in London. Prior to this, Charles headed the energy and infrastructure team at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

Charles' expertise covers project development work, project finance, private M&A and acquisition finance in the energy sector, and he has extensive experience of advising blue chip energy companies and banks on oil and gas, renewable energy, conventional power and energy infrastructure. He has broad international experience, having handled matters in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Western Europe.

Charles joined Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer as an associate after qualifying in 1981. He became a partner at the same firm in 1988 and subsequently joined Watson, Farley & Williams as a partner in 2010. In addition to the UK, Charles has practised in Abu Dhabi, Singapore and Paris.
