Calgary—In mid-March, Dentons Calgary was proud to host the second quarterly meeting in support of 100 Men Who Give a Damn (Calgary), a local and highly innovative charitable group whose mandate is as follows: “Every quarter we get together to hear about the great work three local charities are undertaking, and then we choose one. Our mandate is 100 + men donating at least $100 per quarter – that’s over $10,000 to one charity per quarter! That is powerful.”

With a roster of distinguished speakers, the evening was a resounding success that saw an impressive turnout for the group. In addition to inspiring speeches about the importance of community giving, the group heard from the three candidates of the selected charities for this quarter.

With three strong contenders, competition was fierce, but in the end, the chosen charity at this meeting was The Alex, an amazing cause committed to health for the underprivileged. The Alex plans to use the funds collected from the group to subsidize their Dental Bus, which helps children without access to a dentist. To date, we have already raised $12,000, exceeding our quarterly goal.
