Esther McDermott, Construction lawyer and co-chair of Dentons' UK LGBT network GLOW, took part in a roundtable discussion on LGBT issues organised by the Law Society in July 2017.  Esther and her peers from several other law firms discussed how far LGBT rights have come in the UK over the last 20 years and whether the legal profession has yet to deliver full equality in the workplace.  They addressed how law firms are tackling LGBT issues and adapting to be more inclusive, as well as whether workplace employment policies relating to LGBT are required.

Esther was recently named as one of the top 10 LGBT+ Corporate Rising Stars at the British LGBT Awards 2017. She is passionate about diversity and promoting cultural change both at Dentons and within the legal sector generally.  She is also a founding committee member of the Law Society’s LGBT division.
