Frankfurt—Global law firm Dentons has enhanced its team in Frankfurt with the recruitment of partner Daniel F. Fritz as of September 1, 2017. He will work as part of the highly regarded Restructuring and Insolvency team, led by partner Andreas Ziegenhagen.

Daniel Fritz was previously a partner with hww hermann wienberg wilhelm. He brings 18 years’ experience in restructuring and insolvency law, including the  enforcement and defense of insolvency-related claims. He supports insolvency administrators on questions related to mergers and acquisitions, and advises investors on distressed acquisitions. His clients include the Royal Bank of Scotland, which he advises as creditor with regard to the insolvency of Praktiker and Max Bahr,  and serves as a member of their creditors’ committees.

Fritz frequently acts as a “Private Expert” for the European Commission in the reform of German insolvency legislation.  He is currently assisting the EC in drafting a directive on the establishment of a preventive restructuring framework.

Dentons’ Restructuring and Insolvency practice was recently enhanced with the hire of Dr. Benjamin Kurzberg as counsel and the promotion of Dirk Schoene to partner in Berlin. Altogether, the practice group comprises 20 lawyers in Germany.

With this hire, Dentons now has more than 40 lawyers and professionals in Frankfurt. So far this year, five partners have joined the team. Overall more than 150 lawyers and professionals work at Dentons in Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich. The Firm was recently shortlisted by the well-known legal magazine JUVE for the “Law Firm of the Year 2017” award.
